
In 1991, the Huaiyin Cigarette Factory decided to use the image of a wax plum tree adorned with flower buds as the main design, specially developing a cigarette that embodies the meaning of “Wax Plum, the finest among flowers; Premier, his virtue is unparalleled,” thus naming it “一品梅” (Yipinmei). Starting in 1998, the Huaiyin Cigarette Factory launched the “Yipinmei Project” and the “Yipinmei New Century Project,” focusing on cultivating a prominent brand and creating high-quality cigarettes. In the year the project commenced, “一品梅” achieved sales of 80,000 boxes, becoming the best-selling single brand in the Jiangsu market. After several years of effort, “一品梅” was recognized by the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration as one of the 36 distinguished cigarettes in the country, joining the ranks of major national tobacco brands. By 2006, the production and sales of “一品梅” surged from 80,000 boxes to 395,000 boxes, with the company’s economic benefits also rapidly developing, increasing tax revenue from less than 700 million yuan in 1997 to nearly 2.8 billion yuan.
1991年,淮阴卷烟厂决定以这株缀满花蕾的腊梅树为主图案,特别研制生产一种卷烟,取“腊梅,花中一品;总理,其德一品”之意,故名“一品梅”。 1998年起,淮阴卷烟厂先后启动了以培育规模品牌、创名优烟为主要目标的“一品梅工程”“一品梅新世纪工程”。工程启动当年,“一品梅”销量达到8万箱,成为江苏市场单品牌销量最大的品牌。经过几年努力,“一品梅”被国家烟草专卖局确定为全国36种名优卷烟之一,跻身全国烟草大品牌行列。2006年,“一品梅”产销量由8万箱提升至39.5万箱,企业经济效益也快速发展,实现税利由1997年的不到7亿元增加到近28亿元。
