As early as the 1980s, 人参 (Renshen) cigarettes were recognized as one of the thirteen famous cigarettes in the country and won a gold medal at the 1992 Hong Kong International Food Expo. In the same year, the Changchun Cigarette Factory collaborated with the Jilin Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute to develop a new generation of cigarettes—生命源 “人参” (Shengmingyuan Renshen) cigarettes (soft pack). This technological achievement was validated at the ministerial level and was awarded the title of "Famous Cigarette of Guandong" at the Northeast Three Provinces Light Industry Expo, as well as winning gold medals at the inaugural China Science and Technology Star International Expo and the fifth China New Technology and New Products Expo. 人参 (Renshen) cigarettes are a premium product, crafted primarily from the renowned red sun-cured and flue-cured tobacco from the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, blended with ginseng and other spices for a refined taste.
早在20世纪80年代，人参烟就被评为全国十三种名烟之一，并在1992 年香港国际食品博览会上荣获金奖。同年，长春卷烟厂与吉林省中医中药研究院共同研制开发出新一代卷烟——生命源“人参”烟（软包），其科技成果通过部级鉴定，在东北三省轻工业博览会上被评为“关东名烟”，在首届中国科技之星国际博览会和第五届中国新技术新产品博览会上荣获金奖。 人参烟是一种高级卷烟，采用延边朝鲜族自治州的著名特产红晒烟和烤烟为主要原料，配以人参和其他香料精制而成。
