In 1905, the patriotic overseas Chinese brothers Jian Zhaonan and Jian Yujie founded the Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company, launching the "Double Happiness" brand of cigarettes in 1906. In 1909, after reorganizing the company, the Jian brothers introduced "Red Double Happiness," which inherited the flavor profile of "Double Happiness." By 1916, the Nanyang Company established a factory in Shanghai to produce cigarettes, marking the beginning of "Red Double Happiness" production in the city. Since its inception in 1906, "Red Double Happiness" has been honored with titles such as "National Tobacco Industry Quality Cigarettes" and "China Famous Brand Product."
1905年，爱国华侨简照南，简玉阶两兄弟创办南洋兄弟烟草公司，1906年推出“双喜”牌卷烟。1909年，简氏兄弟改组公司后推出“红双喜”，它在口味上与“双喜”一脉相承。1916年，南洋公司在上海设厂生产卷烟，“红双喜”开始在上海生产。 “红双喜”卷烟自1906年诞生以来，荣获“全国烟草行业名优卷烟”、“中国名牌产品”等荣誉称号。
